Diagnosis, therapy, and prevention of speech and communication disorders, including endoscopic swallowing assessment.
Speech therapy is a field of medicine focused on the diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of speech and communication disorders.
At our facility, we offer speech therapy consultations as well as endoscopic swallowing examinations, which involve inserting a flexible nasofiberscope through the wider nasal passage, via the nasopharynx, into the oropharynx. This allows visualization of the structures of the oropharynx, larynx, and hypopharynx.
The examination is performed in cases of

- Aspiration risks
- Neurological disorders
- Esophageal motility disorders
- The need to assess function after surgery involving the oral cavity, pharynx, larynx, or esophagus
- Communication difficulties related to swallowing problems
