Frequently asked questions

When is it worth seeing a neurologist?
It is worth seeing a neurologist if you experience recurring headaches, dizziness, problems with memory or concentration, numbness and tingling in the limbs, sleep disturbances, fainting, hand tremors, or worsening vision of unclear cause. No referral is required — at ProfessMed, you can book an appointment directly.
What does a neurology appointment at ProfessMed look like?
The first neurology appointment includes a detailed discussion of your symptoms and medical history, a neurological examination (assessment of reflexes, muscle strength, coordination, and sensation), and—if needed—a referral for additional tests (EEG, EMG, MRI). The appointment lasts as long as your condition requires.
Do I need a referral to see a neurologist at ProfessMed?
No. ProfessMed is a private specialist clinic and does not require a referral for a neurological consultation. You can schedule an appointment through ZnanyLekarz or by phone at +48 58 380 24 25.
What is an EEG test and how is it performed?
EEG (electroencephalography) is a non-invasive test of the brain’s electrical activity. Electrodes are placed on the patient’s head to record brain waves. The test takes about 20–30 minutes, is painless, and requires no special preparation. At ProfessMed, EEG is performed on-site as part of neurological diagnostics.
What is an EMG test?
EMG (electromyography) is a test of neuromuscular conduction. It allows us to assess whether the peripheral nerves and muscles are functioning properly. It is used, among other things, in the diagnosis of carpal tunnel syndrome, neuropathy, sciatica, and neuromuscular disorders. The test is performed at the ProfessMed clinic.
