Accessibility of the facility and the website
This page covers two things: how to reach the facility and move around it if you have limited mobility or other specific needs, and how accessible the professmed.pl website itself is. If something is missing here, please call us. We will check and give you an answer before your visit.
At a glance
Address — ul. Tartaczna 2/15a, 80-839 Gdańsk. The facility occupies the 3rd floor of a historic mill in the city centre.
Entrance — at ground level, with no steps. Lift — to the 3rd floor, so stairs are not needed at any point.
Parking — a space for people with disabilities next to the building. Toilet — adapted for people with disabilities, on the premises.

Getting here, parking and the area
From Gdańsk Główny station the walk takes about 12–15 minutes: along Rajska towards Wałowa, then into Tartaczna. The route is flat and passes through the oldest part of the Old Town.
Some Old Town streets are cobbled. If you use a wheelchair or a walking frame, it is more comfortable to keep to the main routes — the smoothest one runs along the Radunia Canal.
There is a parking space for people with disabilities next to the building. The whole area is a paid parking zone; larger car parks are located by the city-centre shopping galleries and along Podwale Staromiejskie.

Entrance, lift and consulting rooms
You enter the building at ground level — no steps, and no threshold that would require assistance from another person.
A lift serves the 3rd floor, where the facility is located. At no point on the way from the entrance to reception do you need to use stairs.
Inside the facility there are no architectural barriers between the lift, reception and the consulting rooms.
On site and help before your visit
There is a toilet adapted for people with disabilities on the premises.

If you would like to come with a companion, an assistant or an interpreter, please mention it when booking — we will arrange the details together with the doctor.
Booking does not require internet access. We can arrange the appointment by phone, with no referral needed — details are on the Registration page.
What we have not yet confirmed
We state only what we know for certain. We have not yet verified the points below and deliberately make no claims about them — if any of them matters to you, please call before your visit and we will check and give you an answer.
We do not publish the dimensions of the doors, the lift car or the toilet, so we do not claim compliance with any particular dimensional standard. On request we will measure them and give you the figures before your visit.
We have no confirmed information about an induction loop for hearing-aid users, or about a sign language interpreter being permanently available. Please contact us in advance and we will check what can be arranged for a specific date.
The physical accessibility of the building has not been audited by an external specialist. The information above comes from the facility and describes the actual state of things, but it is not a certification.
Digital accessibility — compliance status
The professmed.pl website conforms to WCAG 2.2 at level AA for those criteria that can be verified automatically or by calculation. The last full review was carried out on 16 August 2026, and further accessibility improvements were deployed on 20 August 2026.
This statement was prepared on the basis of a self-assessment carried out by the technical team responsible for the website.
What has been checked
An automated audit with the axe-core engine (version 4.13) covering WCAG 2.0 A/AA, 2.1 A/AA and 2.2 AA rules. The audit covered every page template on the site — the home page, the specialist listing and profiles, specialties, pricing, the blog, guide articles, health-problem pages, and the information and contact pages.
Tests were run at two screen widths — mobile (375 px) and desktop (1280 px). No WCAG rule violations were found in any of the templates tested.
Text contrast was additionally verified by calculation, because automated tools cannot assess text placed on gradients and photographs. The actual composite background colour beneath every text element was determined and compared with the required threshold of 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text.
In August 2026 we recalculated the contrast of every piece of text on the dark background of the header, footer and menus, raising those that fell below the 4.5:1 threshold, and we checked keyboard operation of the site after each change of page.
Accessibility features on the website
The site can be operated using the keyboard alone, and a “Skip to content” link at the start of every page lets you bypass the navigation.
The element holding keyboard focus is clearly outlined, and the outline stays visible both on the light pages and against the dark background of the header and footer.
After moving to another page, a screen reader reads out the new page title and keyboard focus moves to the start of the content, so browsing does not begin again from the navigation.
The heading structure reflects the layout of the content, images that carry information have alternative text, and purely decorative elements are hidden from assistive technologies.
Animations and transitions switch off automatically if the reduce-motion option is enabled in your operating system. This also applies to the video clips on specialist profiles, which then do not play by themselves.
The site is responsive — it works on phones, tablets and computers, and the content stays legible when the view is enlarged in the browser.
The site is available in six languages: Polish, English, German, French, Norwegian and Ukrainian. The language of each page is declared correctly, so screen readers read the content with the right pronunciation.
Known limitations of the website
Appointments are booked through the external ZnanyLekarz system. We have no control over the accessibility of that service — if you run into difficulty booking online, please call us; we will arrange the appointment without using the external system.
Text sizes are currently written in fixed units, so changing the default font size in your browser settings does not enlarge the content. Zooming the whole page (Ctrl and “+”, or a pinch gesture on a phone) works correctly at 200% and beyond. A move to scalable units is planned.
We have not yet carried out testing with people who use screen readers. We plan this as the next step and make no claim of conformance in that respect until the testing has been done.
