Clinical diagnostics is a specialized psychological assessment using standardized tests, questionnaires and a clinical interview. At ProfessMed, we offer, among other things, personality assessment, ADHD assessment in adults and intelligence assessment (IQ tests).
Clinical diagnostics with a psychologist is a process of assessing mental, emotional and cognitive functioning. Its aim is to understand the source of difficulties — e.g. problems with concentration, mood or relationships — and to provide a reliable basis for further decisions: psychotherapy, psychiatric treatment or changes in daily functioning.
Each assessment is preceded by a neuropsychological consultation, during which the specialist conducts an interview and selects the set of diagnostic tools that best fits the patient’s situation. ADHD assessment is always preceded by a personality assessment, because similar symptoms may result from other difficulties, e.g. anxiety or low mood.
The results are discussed with the patient, together with recommendations on further steps.

How does the assessment process work?

- 3. Discussion of results — interpretation of the assessment and recommendations on further steps, e.g. psychotherapy or a psychiatric consultation.
