Surgeon Gdańsk — consultations and surgical procedures

Surgeon Gdańsk — consultations and surgical procedures

Surgical consultations and outpatient procedures — skin and subcutaneous lesions, wounds, abscesses, ingrown toenails.

At ProfessMed, we provide surgical consultations and perform outpatient surgical procedures. We help, among other things, with the diagnosis and treatment of skin and subcutaneous lesions, wounds, abscesses and other problems that require a surgeon’s assessment.

During the consultation, the surgeon assesses the problem, discusses treatment options and, where indicated, qualifies the patient for a procedure. Surgical consultation (general surgery, surgical oncology) — 250 zł.

Not every skin lesion, lump, wound or painful change requires a procedure. If you notice a change that concerns you, you are not sure what is causing it, or you are wondering whether it needs surgical treatment, a consultation is a good place to start. During the visit, the surgeon will assess the problem, discuss possible treatment options and tell you whether a procedure is necessary.

Removal of skin and subcutaneous lesions

At ProfessMed, we perform outpatient removal of skin and subcutaneous lesions under local anesthesia. The treatment method is chosen by the surgeon during the consultation, after assessing the lesion. When a lesion is excised, the tissue may be sent for histopathological examination. The cost of the histopathological examination is not included in the price of the procedure and depends on the number of specimens taken and the scope of the examination.

  • Excision of a skin mole or lipoma — from 700 zł

  • Suture removal — 130 zł

How the surgical consultation works

  • 1. Assessment of the problem — the surgeon takes a medical history and carefully assesses the lesion, wound or reported problem.
  • 2. Discussion of treatment options — the doctor explains the available treatment options and whether the problem requires a surgical procedure.
  • 3. Agreeing on next steps — if a procedure is indicated, the doctor discusses its scope, how it will be performed and the follow-up recommendations. If needed, a date for the procedure is scheduled.

Frequently asked questions

What conditions should prompt you to see a surgeon?
It is worth seeing a surgeon for skin lesions that require excision, hernias, ingrown toenails, abscesses, wounds that need treatment, and symptoms that may require a surgical evaluation. A general surgeon also provides diagnostics and determines eligibility for the treatment of skin cancers.
What does a surgical consultation look like?
The appointment includes a medical interview regarding your symptoms, a physical examination, and a clinical assessment of the issue. Based on the examination, the surgeon will recommend the next steps, which may include an outpatient procedure, a referral for additional tests, or a conservative treatment plan.
Are surgical procedures performed at ProfessMed?
At ProfessMed, the surgeon performs minor outpatient procedures, including wound suturing, suture removal, abscess incision, wound debridement, removal of skin lesions, and treatment of ingrown toenails. More extensive procedures requiring general anesthesia are carried out in a hospital setting.
What documentation should I bring to my appointment?
It is worth bringing the results of any previous tests (laboratory or imaging), records from earlier consultations, and a list of medications you are taking. If your concern involves a skin lesion, photos documenting how it has changed over time may also be helpful.
Do I need a referral to see a surgeon at ProfessMed?
No. ProfessMed is a private specialist medical facility and does not require a referral. You can book an appointment directly through ZnanyLekarz or by phone: +48 58 380 24 25.
How much does mole removal cost in Gdańsk?
Removal of a skin mole or lipoma costs from 700 zł, and removal of lesions using electrocoagulation starts at 500 zł. The procedure is preceded by a surgical consultation (250 zł), during which the doctor evaluates the lesion and selects the appropriate method.
