Adult Psychiatry — ProfessMed Gdańsk

Diagnosis and treatment of mental disorders in adults — depression, anxiety, insomnia, mood disorders.

Diagnosis and treatment of mental health disorders in adults, including depression, anxiety, insomnia, and mood disorders.

There are problems we are not able to cope with on our own, and we are not always able to assess our mental state by ourselves.

If you are experiencing problems related to low mood, anxiety, social functioning, thinking, or concentration, it is worth trusting a specialist and scheduling an appointment.

Frequently asked questions

When is it worth scheduling an appointment with a psychiatrist?
It’s worth seeing a psychiatrist if you are experiencing persistent low mood, anxiety, insomnia, difficulty concentrating, panic attacks, suicidal thoughts, or sudden changes in behavior. An appointment is also recommended when everyday functioning becomes difficult due to emotional problems. You don’t need to wait for a crisis—the sooner, the better.
What does the first appointment with a psychiatrist at ProfessMed look like?
The first psychiatric visit is a conversation lasting between 20 and 40 minutes, depending on the specialist. The psychiatrist conducts a detailed interview about symptoms, medical history, previous treatment, and life circumstances. Based on this, they make an initial diagnosis and propose a treatment plan — medication, psychotherapy, or both approaches combined.
Do I need a referral to see a psychiatrist at ProfessMed?
No. ProfessMed is a private medical facility and does not require a referral for a psychiatric consultation. You can schedule an appointment directly through ZnanyLekarz or by phone: +48 58 380 24 25.
Psychiatrist vs. psychologist — what’s the difference?
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor who can make diagnoses, prescribe medication, and issue sick leave certificates. A psychologist is not a medical doctor and does not prescribe medication, but provides psychological assessment and psychotherapy. At ProfessMed, both psychiatrists and psychotherapists are available, and these two forms of care can complement each other.
Is a visit to a psychiatrist confidential?
Yes. A visit to a psychiatrist is protected by medical confidentiality, just like an appointment with any other specialist. Information about psychiatric treatment is not shared with employers, insurers, or any other parties without the patient’s explicit consent.
How much does a psychiatric consultation cost at ProfessMed?
The prices of psychiatric consultations at ProfessMed range from PLN 300 to PLN 400, depending on the specialist. The current price list is available on the facility’s website in the Price List section.
